Illinois Organization Promotes Boxing to Decrease Crime
Recently, the Illinois State Crime Commission has been promoting boxing as a way to keep children and teens out of trouble throughout the state.
As stated in a CBS article, the State Crime Commission is constantly searching for ways to assist law enforcement, through both legislation and crime-prevention efforts. The director of the organization, Jerry Elsner, who was a boxer in his day, says that boxing helps those kids who may be tempted by drugs or violence to become focused and self-disciplined.
